Campaigns Continue Focus On Oregon Ahead Of May 20th Primary

ELECTION  PRESIDENT  ELECTIONS

The full-court press on Oregon voters continues. April Baer reports that the national candidates have shifted focus.

Former President Bill Clinton's latest tour on behalf of his wife's presidential campaign has been expanded to include stops in Astoria, Tillamook, and Newport -- and inland Monday afternoon in Corvallis and Eugene.

The Clinton campaign is focusing on getting out the vote, even as Senator Hillary Clinton's path to the nomination appears steep.

Republican John McCain delivers a much-anticipated speech on global warming Monday, hoping to burnish his environmental credentials. McCain's first major Oregon fundraiser of the campaign is on the calendar for Monday night.

Meanwhile, Senator Barack Obama's campaign has just announced another trip to Oregon. If all goes as planned, he'll have spent back-to-back weekends courting the Oregon vote. No word yet on possible destination cities.

Eight days to go until primary ballots are due.
