McCain Talks Energy In Oregon Appearance

Senator John McCain made his  first campaign visit to Oregon Monday, taking aim at climate change.  Speaking to employees of the wind turbine firm, Vestas, McCain made it clear that he's no climate change skeptic.

John McCain: "In the years ahead, we're likely to see reduced water supplies, more forest fires than in previous decades, changes in crop production, more heat waves afflicting our cities, and a greater intensity in storms. Each one of those consequences of climate change will require policies to protect our citizens, especially those most vulnerable to violent weather."

He renewed his call for a cap and trade system, similar to what other presidential candidates have proposed.

If elected, he promised to expand the nuclear power industry, and re-engage in diplomacy with other global players like China and India.

Democratic Governor Ted Kulongoski was at the event, and made remarks about the host company, Vestas.

His being there was notable in that the governor is a superdelegate who's committed to Democratic Senator Hillary Clinton, and has been actively campaigning for her.
