Democratic Presidential Candidates Make Final Oregon Visits

The two Democratic presidential candidates are back on the Oregon Trail.  Senator Hillary Clinton is already in Southern Oregon.  And as Andrew Theen reports, Barack Obama is making his fourth trip to Oregon this weekend.

David Plouffe is the national campaign manager for Obama.  He says Obama appears to have what he calls  a "healthy lead" in the state, according to the polls. But he says they aren't taking anything for granted.

The Illinois Senator is expecting to draw a huge crowd at Portland's Waterfront Park on Sunday afternoon.

But Plouffe says trips to Roseburg on Saturday, and Pendleton on Sunday show Obama has strong support outside the Metro area.

David Plouffe: "I think even in some places that you might traditionally think are Clinton demographic strongholds, we think we're going to get a very healthy share of votes on Tuesday."

Plouffe expects Oregon to be a "battle-ground" state in the general election.

The campaign hasn't announced where Barack Obama will be on election night.
