Poll Suggests Late Gains For Clinton

Researchers in Boston have published a poll on the Democratic presidential contest in Oregon.  The polling was done over the weekend, and as April Baer reports, it may suggest late gains for Senator Hillary Clinton.

Suffolk University's David Paleologos has been polling voters in Oregon and Kentucky.    He says changes in the last few days of campaigning are pretty striking.

David Paleologos: "It's been a fascinating several weeks to watch. We've been polling most of the states from Tuesday to Tuesday, and there are such vast differences between Democratic voters in Kentucky and Oregon."

The Kentucky poll finds Hillary Clinton leading Barack Obama by 26 percent.

The Oregon poll on the other hand,  shows Obama leading Clinton by a few percentage points--not enough to diffinately say he's ahead, since the poll's margin of error is plus or minus four percent. Nevertheless Paleologos predicts a win for Obama, because he's doing well among early voters.

As for November--most Oregon respondents said they'd support whoever the party nominates. In Kentucky though, more Clinton voters said they'd vote for John McCain over Barack Obama.
