High-Profile Clinton Supporters Line Up Behind Obama

Senators Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton have appeared together at fundraisers this week, raising more than $4 million for Obama's campaign.

In Oregon's primary, some of Clinton's strongest support came from working class women. But Friday, the Obama campaign is working to win over those voters. Ethan Lindsey reports.

It wasn't until Hillary Clinton conceded the nomination that West Linn Democratic Rep. Darlene Hooley endorsed Obama.

Now Obama has unveiled an economic plan for 'America's Working Women'. And Hooley spoke up for the Senator on a conference call.

Darlene Hooley: “Obama's our nominee, and I am going to support him and support him wholeheartedly. He is very good on women's issues. I deeply respect and have worked with Senator McCain, but last year when the Supreme Court came down with the decision making it hard for women to challenge pay discrimination, he opposed legislation that Obama cosponsored that would have reversed that decision.”

Obama's new plan highlights how some of his existing economic ideas would affect women. Such as a $500 tax cut for working women - up to $1000 per family.

For his part, Republican John McCain is holding a town hall focused on women's issues in Wisconsin. He says Obama's ideas are too much about “big government.”
