Columbia Gorge Will Miss Its Old Friend Nancy Russell
Portland, OR September 22, 2008 4:20 p.m.

Nancy Neighbor Russell has died. She was a co-founder of Friends of the Columbia Gorge, and the moving force behind the federal legislation that protected the area in 1986.
I spoke about Mrs. Russell with Kevin Gorman, Executive Director of the Friends of the Columbia Gorge.
Kevin Gorman is Executive Director of the Friends of the Columbia Gorge. He joined us to remember Nancy Russell, the group’s founder, who died Friday of Lou Gehrig’s disease.
A public memorial for Nancy Russell is planned for October 5th at the Portland Art Museum.
