Portland, OR October 2, 2008 3:26 p.m.
The former mayor of Portland, Vera Katz, is going back to work.
The 75-year-old has been hired by a public relations agency.
Vera Katz: “Well the Gallatin Group contacted me about 3 or 4 months ago and offered me the opportunity to be of counsel. Pick and choose issues I want to work on – and work with clients who are involved in strategic planning, public policy development and advocacy and I said, you know, I think I’m ready to go back to work.”
Katz says she’s already working with OMSI.
She has beaten cancer twice, but she stresses, she’s still undergoing regular dialysis, so she won’t be working full-time.
