Coast Guard Searching For Fishing Boat Crew Members From Oregon
Portland, OR October 23, 2008 11:40 a.m.
The Coast Guard's Anchorage office is searching for two missing crew members from a fishing boat that ran into trouble in the Bering Sea yesterday. The 11-member crew hails from Oregon, Washington, and Alaska.
Coast Guard searchers rescued four crew members as they floated in a lifeboat, yesterday. The Coast Guard has also recovered the bodies of five crew members. Two people remain missing in the frigid waters.
It wasn't clear what happened to the 93-foot fishing vessel. Coast Guard officials say they won't release any names, or states of origin, of the crew members involved, until family members have been notified.
