Eugene Mayor Re-Elected In A Tight Race

The unofficial final results give Eugene’s incumbent a win over her challenger, the former mayor.

Kitty Piercy has accepted Jim Torrey’s concession in the race for Mayor of Eugene. Piercy has received her confirmation of victory.

Kitty Piercy : “Jim Torrey called me to congratulate me and I thanked him for that. And, I know there will be opportunities to work together in the future and right now I am just honored to be elected as mayor for the next four years.”

Lane County Elections Official, Annette Newingham says they’re still counting “provisional” ballots and checking for signatures and possible duplicates. But ...

Annette Newingham: “Any of those that we’re resolving may not necessarily change any of the results because proportionately, in most cases, mathematical statistics trend in the same direction they’ve been trending in the first place.”

Elections officials have up to ten days after the November 4th election to certify the final results.
