Alaska, Horizon Expand Alliance With Delta Air Lines

Seattle-based Alaska and Horizon airlines are expanding their alliance with Delta Air Lines. Delta recently became the world’s biggest air carrier after a merger with Northwest.
Alaska Air spokeswoman Marianne Lindsey says her carrier and Delta agreed to funnel more passengers to each other as Delta expands its international routes from the West Coast.
Marianne Lindsey: “I think it will impact both of us in terms of increased revenue from increased travel. Those travelers, us feeding travelers to Delta and Delta feeding travelers to us.”
Lindsey says high-status frequent fliers will also benefit from the deepened partnership.
Starting in December, Delta will offer Alaska’s “MVP Gold” members priority boarding and free upgrades on its flights.
The same goes for Delta’s “Gold Medallion” members when they fly on Alaska and Horizon.
