Canby Residents Meet With Officials About FBI Investigation

City leaders in Canby have agreed to meet with residents to discuss a drug scandal under investigation by the FBI. As April Baer reports, neighbors want something done about a man alleged to have supplied a police officer with illegal drugs.

Court documents have identified Bill Traverso as the man suspected of selling steroids to a Canby police officer. People who live nearby say a lot of strange scenes have played out in the neighborhood lately.

Mark Depner: "He's got guys coming in and out of his house all the time that are known meth users. One of 'em I know from the county--they fired him for using meth."

Mark Depner says he and other neighbors have asked repeatedly for help , with not much to show for it.

They packed a city council meeting this week. The mayor and some council members agreed to meet and discuss their concerns in early December.

The FBI is investigating, and the city has ordered its own independent inquiry.

City officials declined comment until that investigation is complete.
